Activities in the field of sustainable development – activities for the certification of customer management systems that ensure economic efficiency, environmental responsibility and social performance, as well as the formalization of common principles and approaches to activities in the field of sustainability, promotion of the transition to a sustainable lifestyle.

The objectives of the SIC International Certification System in the field of sustainable development are consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, adopted by a resolution of the UN General Assembly in 2015, as well as the principles of the Paris Agreement of December 12, 2015.

Considering that the goals of sustainability are aimed at solving problems that go beyond national boundaries and cannot be solved by one party alone, as well as the fact that the SIC system is international and brings together certification bodies operating in different countries of the world, we Our activities are guided by international standards. Based on consensus, they are the basis for innovation, as well as important tools to help achieve sustainable development goals.

The sustainable development policy is continuously linked to the Code of Ethics (SIC-N-10:20), which sets out the basic principles of the work of notified bodies, including, in addition to the principles established by ISO/IEC 17021, the unacceptability of racism, chauvinism, nationalism and religious intolerance.

The SIC international certification system supports the Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015, and contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) presented in it.

The Agenda seeks for changing the vector of development and direct it to the elimination of extreme poverty, the achievement of sustainable and comprehensive development based on human rights. Achieving sustainable development goals requires the active participation of the entire society, including business and industry.

Members of the SIC International Certification System contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals by developing and implementing appropriate measures.

Supporting the concept of sustainable development as a “global model of the future of civilization”, the technical committee of the TC SIC developed the SIC.SDGs:2022 – Sustainable Development. Requirements for organizations on achieving Sustainable Development Goals standard.

 

The standard contains specific requirements for organizations for achieving sustainable development goals. It should be emphasized that each organization must determine its priority goals from the 17 SDGs, taking into account the specifics of its activities, as well as national characteristics and geographical location.

This standard is intended for popularizing the concept of sustainable development and for assisting in the development and implementation of activities by organizations to achieve sustainable development goals.

Since, at present, in many fields of activity for implementing these goals have not yet reached the necessary pace and scale, the purpose of development of this standard is to involve representatives of business communities and entrepreneurs in the development and implementation of measures to achieve the SDGs, popularize the concept of sustainable development.
